Leadership Praxis
During my third semester at CU, I decided to become a learning assistant for a course I really enjoyed. I helped teach CSCI 1200 which is a introduction computer science course for students of all majors. It was the first time I had stepped into a leadership role and really embodied being someone that students could come to for help. I choose to highlight this experence because it was the first time I practied being a transformative leader. I helped transform the way some students approached computer science and problem solving skills in general. While being in a virtual world wasn't the most optimal, it allowed me to be more creative and open to different techniques when it came to teaching and learning.
Breakout Room
During lectures, the class would often divide into smaller groups and work on a worksheet together. This picture illustrates a group and I working on solving Room 2.
Final LA Presentation
As an LA I was required to take a class on how to be an LA. This course was extremely beneficially in constructing the foundations of how to be a leader in an education setting. The complete final presentation can be found on the cloud button.
Office Hours
My favorite part of my postition was hosting office hours. Here is a picture of a couple of students and I working through a problem on virtual whiteboard. This space allowed me more freedom on being a leader since I got to talk and work with students more personally.
